Ranchin’ it up for a western wedding! First of all, it was the hottest day of the year (at least it felt like that), in Bend, OR at Rock Springs Ranch (one of the coolest wedding venues by the way). Second of all, it was even hotter because the bride, the lovely Skyler Nelson, had been in front of my lens once a year, every year, along with her sister and brother since she was 4 years old… and now here we were making her wedding photos together. Yes, I cried, especially during the father daughter dance, very challenging to keep the camera steady. Its amazing how a chemistry develops between model and photographer, over a long period of time, sprinkled with patience, love, and a passion for the project. I never tire of photographing her, the shots feel fresh every time. With myself and the help of Associate Photographer/Second Shooter Michael Costello, and copious amount of water so we didn’t dehydrate…. we came away with photos from the heart.
