Hope is something we all could use a little bit of right now, and here she is… Introducing Hope.  She is one of the most beautiful people i’ve ever met inside and out.   Its been quite a busy summer season, and I haven’t had a chance to share some of the photo projects i’ve been working on.   Here is one that inspired me deeply.  Hope contacted me about shooting a maternity session on the beach.  When she arrived, I instantly felt a connection to her powerful, joyful vibe…I couldn’t wait to make these images.  She said…”I want better maternity photos than the ones Serena Williams just released for Vanity Fair”….photographed by none other than Annie Leibovitz.  Nothing like having your client set the bar to make you sweat a little.  Not sure I actually achieved this request… but I did my best.  I’m grateful to have captured these moments in time.   Here are some selects from our session together.  Thank you Hope for being amazing…

beautiful + sisters + australian + fun-loving + free-spirited = i love my job.

Need i say more?  take a peek at the non-stop energy these two gorgeous girls give.  Frame after frame of authentic smiles, and real-time sassy.  These girls came across the world to Cannon Beach, Oregon from Australia with their mother for a wedding, and we special ordered this portrait session of just the two of them before hand.   Really beautiful souls inside and out.  Thank you girls for being such wonderful models for me.  Love to you both!

In my portrait sessions, i like to use a mix of movement and posing to find strong along with flexible lines.

Thank you Mary for commenting! I agree, beautiful girls in a beautiful setting is one of my favorite things to photograph! XOReplyCancel

Loving the elements from this sweet sunset spring wedding: dramatically lit sky, beautiful bride with a timeless, almost fairy-tale look, and wreath for her hair…the simplicity of just the two of them on the beach, really makes for special imagery.  I had so much fun working with this New Jersey couple who came a long way across the country to say their vows to eachother.  Using wind, light, reflection, and movement, combined with the groovy love vibe these two share, we came up with these photos….what an experience.  Thank you Samantha and Ken Helmrich for an amazing session….many years of happiness.  Wedding at the Stephanie Inn.

Sweet because its just the two of them, barefoot on the beach, with a select few family members…she keeps warm with her fur stole (i believe was her grandmother’s), with vintage hair adornments.  Sexy because this couple truly means it when they say they love eachother…a palpable bond between them during our session as they move from couple in love, to married as husband and wife.

In going back through some of my weddings from last season,  I wanted to share some shots from this playful couple’s session.  One of my favorites for the sheer simplicity of the scene, using nature as their decoration…allowing them to fully show up for the photos.  Even a little rain in the middle allowed for some romantic umbrella shots.  A beautifully lit romance session prior to the ceremony.  For those of you planning a simple, intimate beach wedding – elopement style or with a few family members….i hope this one inspires you.  Congratulations Laura and Mike….many years of playful happiness.
